The game industry is undergoing a seismic shift from behind the scenes development process all the way to the make up of game audiences. Nowadays more women are part of the game development process and more women are playing games than ever before. Advancing Women in Product (AWIP) and Amazon present “a day in a life of a female game developer” perspectives from women developers who are trying to make a change in this historically male-dominated industry.
We will be featuring a panel of product leaders from Amazon Game Studios, Google Play Store to share their experiences and how you can be a part of this movement.
Kate Kellogg at Amazon Games
Kate is a part of Amazon Games Studios, the in-housel game development arm of the retail giant. She has wide variety of experiences in and out of the games space focusing on studio operations, such as finance, human resources, and production. Kate has held various operations roles at 2k Games and Irrational Games, both under the Take-Two Interactive umbrella.
Khevna Shah - Curriculum Developer at Girls who Code
Khevna is currently a Curriculum Developer for Girls who Code, a nonprofit organization which aims to support and increase the number of women in computer science. Khevna has been developing and designing games since she was 18 years old, she is a self taught game designer with a passion for helping others get into the industry. Prior to Girls who Code, Khevna worked as a Technical Game Designer at Rockstar Games on Red Dead Redemption 2.
Katrina Wolfe- Senior Operations Manager at Kongregate
Katrina is currently a Senior Operations Manager at Kongregate, a mobile & PC game developer, publisher, web gaming portal, and creator of Kartridge, a new downloadable PC gaming platform. Katrina has been working in the mobile game space for almost 10 years, she started in game design and worked her way through various roles before starting at Kongregate as a producer on Animation Throwdown. Over a year ago, she transitioned into operations to focus on company-wide processes and initiatives.
